Don’t just build a home, build a legacy. The saying “A man’s home is his castle” took on a literal meaning for one of our clients! Avid lovers of Gothic Architecture and style, they wanted to create a home that truly personified the style of the historic period they loved so much. They wanted to transform their home into a castle. When we first spoke to them they were looking to have a staircase designed for them, but the more we discussed the project with them we realized how deep their passion was for the look they wanted to achieve, and we came up with a plan to help them make their dream home a reality. Before they spoke with us, they didn’t think it would be possible for their home to undergo the transformation that it did.
Our design team worked closely with the clients to choose traditional Gothic Architectural elements that really gave their home the look and feel of a Medieval castle. Our expert artisan sculptors carved intricately detailed family crests, gargoyles, a magnificent fireplace with a Medieval jousting scene on it, entryways, quatrefoil windows, and arched window surrounds that along with rock faced stone cladding transformed their home into a work of art and a castle.
Before the remodeling project, the only element of their home that resembled a castle was the tower, and it had some issues with the installation of the faux stone veneer cladding that it was covered with.
The end result was quite a remarkable transformation! On the exterior we added rock face granite veneer, a new entry way capped off by a large arch adorned with a family crest, new window and door surrounds all around, gargoyles and other unique carved stone accents, and we gave the garage a cathedral like look by increasing the size of the gables to accommodate 2 large arched windows with balconies and replaced the aluminum garage doors with large wooden doors.

Increasing the size of the gables above the garage and adding these granite arched window surrounds and balconies made a major difference in making this wing of the house look more like a castle and less like a garage.
One of the most impressive additions to the home was this magnificent black limestone fireplace that looks fit for a king! Our artisan sculptors carved an incredible jousting scene that wraps around the entire front of the fireplace, and they even carved the owners riding on horseback in the scene! A truly unique custom masterpiece.
This unique half staircase with twisting rails was a design challenge but a great addition to the interior as well. The end result was a truly unique home that met every one of the client’s expectations and really did transform their home into a dream home.
